Loctite Threadlocker: A Must-Have for Installing Optics | 0.5 ml CZ

Optics Ready plates

Optics Ready (OR) plates adapt your slide’s factory cut to a specific red-dot footprint and set the optic at the right height for durability, zero retention, and co-witness options.

What does an OR plate do?

  • Matches footprints: pairs your slide cut with popular patterns (Trijicon RMR footprint, Shield RMSc footprint, Holosun K-series footprint, Leupold DPP footprint, Vortex Venom footprint or Aimpoint Acro footprint.).
  • Adds rigidity: quality plates use tight tolerances, recoil lugs/pins, and correct screw geometry to resist shift.
  • Simplifies swaps: change optics without milling the slide.

How to choose the right plate

1) Start with your model

Pick a plate made for your exact pistol: either CZ Shadow 2 Optics Ready model, or CZ P-10 Optics Ready model.

2) Select the optic footprint

Choose the plate that matches your red dot’s base. Common choices: Trijicon RMR, Shield RMSc, Holosun K-series, Leupold DPP & C-More RTS footprint

3) Get yourself loctite in case you don't have

Because the recoil of gun requires the screws to be threadlocked. Otherwise the red dot will not hold zero, or will even fly away during shooting. You need to threadlock the screws with loctite.

Installation basics

  • Degrease mating surfaces and screws; use threadlocker.
  • Torque to the manufacturer spec for both plate-to-slide and optic-to-plate screws.
  • Verify screw thread pitch and length (no striker/extractor interference). Witness-mark screws and recheck after your first range session.

Tip: Always follow your pistol and optic manufacturer’s instructions for hardware and torque. Function-test before match or carry use.

What to do if your CZ is not "Optics Ready"

In case your CZ did not arrive from factory sa Optics Ready pistol, you can still install a red dot to it without having your gun modified in any way. How so? Through red dot mount. These replace rear sight in the dovetail, and work 100% of the time.
